National Jar Day

I noticed fellow potter/blogger, Michael Kline was making jars yesterday. Coincidentally, so was I. And on his Sawdust & Dirt blog, he posted a photo not unlike mine here...


Today I will decorate these and put the lids on. By evening, they should look something like these (the ones I made two days ago)...




I've been firing up some of my "blue" pottery lately. It's an interesting "tweener" color these days. Sure, there's still some blue, but with the overcast of the light bamboo-colored overglaze, there's a slight hint of green and a "slate"ness to the blue.

  5. indeed john...now back to the shop. i have a difficult time being away from my clay work. getting a fire going and eating some pudding to gather my strength. :)
