Wheel Man

I guess that by some youtube standard, I've been a good boy and I'm no longer probationary. That is, I noticed a small banner at the top of my youtube page saying "Congratulations! Your account is now enabled for uploads longer than 15 minutes. Click the Upload button below to select a video. ."

Wah-HOO. I've been waiting to upload some longer videos, and I'll start with this pitcher. Starting with about 4 pounds of stoneware, I'm throwing what will end up being a generous 2 quart pitcher. Above is the still shot of the finished (thrown, anyway) piece...

While I was waiting for the video to upload to youtube, I got these others thrown....

I had a few more album covers done before my North Carolina trip. I have to use them somewhere.

  2. Great video, love the music. How tall do you get those pitchers?

  3. Thanks, anonymous.

    Kings,

The pitchers are about 11" by the time I expand them and all. I've got VERY big hands (I can palm a basketball).

  4. Yes, very nice video. The music was perfect to go along with your smooth throwing style.

  5. John,

Your pottery AND your dogs are beautiful! One question about the paper maple leaves - are they machine cut or do you cut them by hand?

  6. Thanks, anonymous. The paper leaves are cut by hand. I fold the paper to where it's got 16 layers so I can at least cut out 16 at a time. I also try to do about 6-8 stacks at a time. I can go through the leaves pretty fast and they aren't reusable.
