New Work

It's been a while since I fired the kilns. I fired yesterday and this morning unloaded what turned out to be a very good first firing for 2010. I spent the better part of the day uploading some of the work to my etsy site.

I got the first of a new round of my "Bruegel-esque Mugs" out and they've got that porcelain glow with gold running in rivers over the smooth red surface...

The new little pear teapots (16 ounce) came out as good or better than they ever have. I may have to reshoot the photo, though. The oribe green leaf doesn't show up too well in this angle...

A few one quart pitchers were the first thing to greet me when I cracked the kiln door to peek in this morning...

I also uploaded this really tightly detailed amber celadon bowl. It's a big'n with a diameter of over 11 inches...

  2. Thanks Jim. I've always loved celadon glazes. I guess they're kinda potter's faves because they don't seem to sell like matte glazes do.

Speaking of Matte Glazes, here's Matt Glaser -- fiddler extrodinaire...
