Presentation is important....why would anyone want to serve such a beautiful salad in plastic. Your bowls are wonderful. Their warm color enhances the food.
Sometimes I take seconds with minor flaws to pot-lucks with a note on the bottom that reads: "Keep the bowl, or if you don't need it, pass it on at your next pot-luck!"
I also like the "Pass it on" thing with seconds. Good idea.

Hollis, some day I'm going to do a post on my most recent observations vis a vis making versatile vs. dedicated-use pots. Let's just say -- the short story is that after this year's observations, I'm shocked at my conclusion.
